When Anders Karlsson, CEO and owner of Granox Fastigheter in Falköping, began planning an extensive renovation of the company's 1,700 square meter office building, he had a clear goal. Tenants noticed the difference immediately
Previously, a large part of the heat came via the ventilation system. Despite effective heat recovery, the heat ended up high in the premises and not where people actually work. This created uneven temperatures and several tenants felt that the working environment could be better. The heat is not visible – but it is felt
One of the things Anders appreciates most is that the heating system is essentially invisible. All the infrared panels have been recessed into the acoustic ceiling, along with lighting and ventilation. Visitors barely notice that the building is heated with infrared panels. If you look up, you see a modern suspended ceiling with recessed LED fixtures and ventilation units. The heat is there – without being visible. When the water-based radiators could be removed, completely new possibilities opened up. Lower energy consumption and better comfort
Anders monitors energy consumption carefully and the first results show that the infrared panels are very energy efficient. At the same time, comfort has increased. It is a combination that made the decision easy. – We wanted to create a better working environment without increasing energy consumption. The infrared panels have given us both. Among the tenants are energy companies who have also been curious about the solution and have followed the results with great interest.
The next step is more properties
After the positive experiences in the office property, Anders is convinced that infrared heating is the right way forward. The plan is to use the same solution in more of the company's properties. The decision has already been made privately. When the family's summer house outside Alingsås is completed, there will be no water-borne underfloor heating coils. The choice has already been made.
