When Thomas Magnusson in Lidköping bought his first product from Infracenter, the plan was simple. Thomas is a golf enthusiast and has built his own small training area where he can practice his swing even during the winter. After the success of the conservatory, Thomas began to wonder if the same technology could also work inside the house. The villa is heated with geothermal energy, but during cold winter days the immersion heater had to work hard, which was noticeable in the electricity costs. When the family renovated the bathroom, a 450 W infrared panel was installed in the ceiling. The results were already evident the first winter. The floor feels significantly warmer and the bathroom feels comfortable even on cold days. The family also installed an Infracenter towel warmer, but not where most people would have placed it. It ended up in the bedroom. Since the family likes to sleep with the window open all year round, the towel warmer is used to heat tomorrow's clothes. - We put the clothes there in the evening. In the morning they are warm and comfortable when we get up. Plus, the towel warmer is really nice. An infrared heating mirror was installed in the daughter's room that functions as both a mirror and a heat source - a solution that was quickly appreciated in the teenage room.
Lower heating costs without compromising comfort
Thomas says that the family now uses geothermal energy in a completely different way than before. Instead of raising the temperature throughout the house when it gets cold outside, they use infrared heating where they spend most of their time. This provides both greater comfort and lower energy consumption.– We no longer need to raise the heat pump as much when winter comes.
